100: Believe It
We have some basic facts that we know to be true:
• The Bible is true, and can be trusted and we can believe in what it says.
• Jesus was a man who lived over 2,000 years ago.
• Jesus was the Son of God - He was with God in heaven, and came to earth as a person.
• Jesus died & rose so anyone who gives their life to God through Jesus will be eternally with God.
• Jesus died & rose so anyone who gives their life to God has been forgiven of all sins.
• If you are a Christian, you will be eternally with God.
We believe these things. In fact, we know them to be true. Do you agree?
These are promises of God that we believe. These things have changed our life. Our life is different because we now have a relationship with God.
So, your life has changed because you know these things to be true. But, there are other promises of God that, if you really, fully, believed them to be true, your life would change.
Let's look at other promises from God to us, that we need to fully believe.
1. God is always with you
What would it
be like if you completely trusted God with the following?
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and
courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you
wherever you go."
You never will doubt God is completely involved in your life, every aspect of it.
2. God Will Supply Your Needs
What would it be like if you completely trusted God with all your needs?
Phil 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according
to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
This is not promising that life won't be difficult, but we can relax and know that God will be taking care of us.
Your future will be okay, because God will supply all your needs.
3. God Will Give You Peace
What things do you worry about? What would it be like if you completely trust God for all the things you tend to worry about?
Phil 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God says there is a peace that goes beyond our understanding. We can have this peace. We just need to pray and trust God.
Practice casting all your worries before God. God will give you peace.
4. God Will Strengthen You
What would it be like if you completely trust God to give you the strength you need in life?
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens
me.
Sometimes life seems overwhelming. Sometimes things seem too difficult to handle. Go to God. Trust Him. He will give you the strength you need.
5. God Will Work All Things for Your Good
What would it be like if you completely trusted that God will work things out for you?
Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together
for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His
purpose.
So many times we don't see how anything good can come out of troubling circumstances. Relax and trust God and watch Him work. Even in the worst situations, God said he will work things together for good.
We don't have to understand all the reasons why things happen, but God will work good into it.
6. God Will Guide You
Life can be very confusing at times. What would it be like you completely trusted in God for wisdom to guide you?
Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not
lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will
make your paths straight.
How do you get God's wisdom? Acknowledge Him in all our ways. That means throughout the day, we give every situation to God, we ask for His wisdom, and then we trust that He will guide us.
This means that when circumstances don't go as expected, we still trust God. He far more than ourselves has our best interests in mind, and He knows what all the possibilities are.
7. God Will Protect You
What is we totally trust God to protect us in all situations?
Psalm 121:7-8 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He
will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going
out and your coming in from this time forth and
forever.
Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the
city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
Notice it says we still do reasonable things to protect ourselves - they still had watchmen to guard their sit. But, once you have done what is reasonable, do you trust God? Do you fully trust that God will protect you and take care of you? Instead of worry about safety, do you simply tell God that you trust Him?
God is your protector and defender in all circumstances.
8. God will answer your prayers
What is we totally trust God to hear our prayers and answer them?
John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in
you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
When you pray, do you watch to see what God will do? Or do you just have little hope in prayer? Pray, then watch.
Of course, God wants you to have a good relationship with Him, He wants you to be abiding with Him. God does not expect perfection, nor freedom from sin, but He wants you to adore and spend time with Him. This is like any parent, who has a child asking for things - what is your relationship like?
Start praying and trust that what God said He would do, that He will do it.
The Bible is true. That means God's promises are true. What if we started believing that what God told us He would do, that He actually will do it?
