INCARNATION OF JESUS CHRIST
(See CHRIST, earthly life of, His virgin birth)
The term incarnation means "in flesh." In doctrinal usage it refers to the divine Son coming from heaven to earth to assume a true human nature through the virgin birth (John 1:14, "the Word became flesh"; (cf. 6:51;16:28). Through the incarnation the divine nature and the human nature Christ became inseparably united and yet distinct in His one person.
