- Read Deuteronomy 5:16 and Ephesians 6:1-3. What commandment is described? Are you teaching this law to your children? Are you a good example to your children in this area?
- Memorize I Timothy 3:4-5. Notes on memorization:
- It is difficult to succeed in any fundamental area of living without memorizing a verse on it.
- Always memorize in one translation.
- Always memorize word-for-word.
- When saying, always say the verse reference, then the verse itself, then the reference again.
- Memorize during "brainless" activities, like driving, standing in line, during commercials, ...
- Regularly review verses previously memorized.
- Read as many of the following as time permits (read at least 8), answering the questions below.
- Describe the children's responsibilities to their parents (and results of various behaviors).
- Describe the parent's responsibilities to their children (and results of various behaviors).
- List other information about children or parents.
- From the above, determine something of which you need to change. One way to encourage success in this area is to say the memorized verse when struggling. What one other thing can you do this week to improve in this area?
