Where was Jesus born?

He was born a Jew in Bethlehem, a town near Jerusalem, famous in Jewish history as the city of King David before the death of Herod the Great in 4 BC.



  • Matthew 2:1 — Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, (A caste of wise men specializing in astronomy, astrology, and natural science) magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,

  • John 7:42 — ~"Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"
  • Micah 5:2 — "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, {Too} little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
