What is the Last Supper?
This is when Jesus met with His 12 apostles for their last dinner together before Jesus' crucifixion.
This dinner was on the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread or Passover. Jesus sent two of his apostles, Peter and John, ahead with specific instructions on where to prepare the Passover meal. That evening was the meal.
Several events happened during the Last Supper:
Jesus washed the feet of the apostles
Jesus announced one of them would betray him, and it was revealed to be Judas
Judas leaves the group, on his way to start the betrayal
Jesus tells Peter that Peter will deny Jesus 3 times
Jesus initiates the practice of Communion, aka the Lord's Supper
Jesus gives one of His most heartfelt sermons and prayers (John 14-17)
Jesus leaves from there to the garden of Gethsemane, where He will be arrested - the beginning of the events towards His death
John 13:5 — Then He *poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
John 13:21 — When Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit, and testified and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me."
John 13:26 — Jesus then *answered, "That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him." So when He had dipped the morsel, He *took and *gave it to Judas, {the son} of Simon Iscariot.
John 13:38 — Jesus *answered, "Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.
Matthew 26:26-28 — While they were eating, Jesus took {some} bread, and after a blessing, He broke {it} and gave {it} to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave {it} to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you;
for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
John 15:12-13 — "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

John 18:1 — When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden, in which He entered with His disciples.
