What is Eschatology?
Eschatology is the study of the final events in history and the destiny of humans, i.e. the End Times.
This includes the topics of the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Man of Lawlessness, etc. Eschatology is one of, if not the most, debated aspects of Christian theology. Multiple viewpoints have sparked a significant amount of controversy in the Christian community. An important thing to remember when studying Eschatology is that none of the viewpoints are going to be 100% accurate. (Remember how different Jesus and His life and death were from the expectations for the Messiah before His arrival.) It is always beneficial for the believer to study the Scriptures for themselves, with no preconceived notions as to what will happen.
Here are some of the main passages to study.
Matthew 24:15-22
Matthew 24:37-51
Mark 13:14-37
Luke 12:39-46
Luke 17:26-37
