Is Hell truly eternal?
Scarily enough, yes it is. The Bible describes the eternal torment that will be experienced in Hell by everyone who goes there.
God is perfect, and so is heaven. Since heaven is perfect, and those in heaven are perfect, God can’t allow anyone with sin to enter into heaven. Everyone has sinned, and no one can get to heaven without being forgiven of sins. There is only one way to be forgiven, and that is by faith to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. God gives everyone a choice to follow Him or reject Him.
Wherever somebody ends up, they are ultimately responsible. But we who have been forgiven through Christ need to have a passion for those who have not, knowing their eternal destiny.
Matthew 13:50 — and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mark 9:47-48 — ~"If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell,
where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.
2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 — dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
Revelation 20:10 — And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Romans 6:23 — For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:18 — ~"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
