How young is too young for a romantic relationship?
The Bible does not give a specific age regarding a romantic relationship. History tells us that in Bible times couples would even get married as young as 15. While physical age may not be mentioned, there is a certain level of maturity involved with pursuing a romantic relationship. For this reason, we suggest group dating until the individual reaches the age of 18. This takes a lot of pressure off the individuals. Once they reach the age of 18 they are at a mature age to make decisions of a romantic relationship. Remember, a believer should never date anyone they wouldn't want to marry. That means that Christians should only date Christians. This is a command in scripture.
Also, be cautious when getting into a romantic relationship. Once a relationship moves past casual into physical, the physical will cloud your feelings, and may override good judgment.
1 Timothy 4:12 — Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but {rather} in speech, conduct, love, faith {and} purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
2 Corinthians 6:14 — Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
1 Kings 11:2 — from the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the sons of Israel, "You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you, {for} they will surely turn your heart away after their gods." Solomon held fast to these in love.
