How can I pray for a sick family member?

Something to be careful of when we pray for anything is demanding something from God. We need to realize that God has a plan, and it may not always be our plan. Before He was killed, Jesus prayed to God and begged Him to change His mind about how He was to die. He then followed it up with saying that God’s will came before His own. This is exactly how we should approach these situations. God wants to help us and the people we pray for, but that doesn’t always mean healing them on earth. Keep in mind that believers will go to Heaven when they die, and there is no greater thing that could happen to anyone. Present your requests to God, but do so in a manner that shows you are willing to accept His will. His will may be for healing miraculously, or for healing naturally, or it may not include healing. God is all wise in His decisions.

Mark 1:40 — And a leper *came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."

Luke 22:41-42 — And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and {began} to pray,
saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."

1 Corinthians 1:25 — Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
